Now that's a Long Weekend!

Amazingly enough, the house is STILL quiet! We had a great weekend and are all completely exhausted. Mark's parents came to visit on Saturday and we had a ball just hanging out and swimming at their hotel here in town. The kids have a lot to learn, but they are little fish and really loved the water. Ally was less than enthused. ;) We also decided to give them a taste of Ethiopia so headed to the local ET restaurant for a feast. It was a bit spicy for everyone except Abi, who ate us ALL under the table. But fun nonetheless.

Yesterday we spent the day in Saugatuck and the kids had there first look at a Great Lake! Priceless. We hiked in the state park, up the sand dunes and played by the water. More swimming at grandma's hotel and then dinner out on the town. The kids were great and very well behaved (even Ally, our resident hellion). We ended up crashing there for the night. Unfortunately Ally wasn't feeling good by then (very congested!) so she didn't sleep well. Consequently, neither did anyone else! But overall was just a great, great weekend. It was great to see Mark's parents and his sister Stephanie even came for the day yesterday.

Two mile hike!
Found the dunes - almost to the top!

Running on the beach
Ally did NOT like the sand.
Fun with Papa and Grandma!

Cool car!

That sounds like fun! What I really want to know is if Abi is still fearlessly walking straight into the deep end of the pool like he did in Addis :)))) I will never forget that as long as I live.

He is still pretty fearless at the pool. We just loaded him up with swimmies and kept a close eye! But he's got some natural swimming ability, so hopefully this summer will give him the chance to practice!
